How To Stop Ram Raiding

Ram raiding is a serious crime. Brazen thieves, usually in a stolen vehicle, will drive straight through the weak point of your shop or premises. The weak point is typically your front door, windows or roller door.

Which bollard for which weak spot?

Ram raiders hit the weak points: roller doors, front doors and glass. Here's how I protect each one.

Roller doors → in-ground removable bollards

A roller door is the weak spot on most factories and shops. A row of in-ground removable bollards puts solid steel in front of it when you're closed, and they lift out in seconds when a truck or forklift needs to get through. See the Laverton North roller door job.

Glass doors and windows → permanent bollards

Where no vehicle ever needs to get through, a permanent bollard set in concrete is the way to go. See permanent bollards.

Drive-throughs → a row of removable bollards

Don't rely on bolt-down bollards

A small business owner in Bayswater had been told bolt-down bollards would protect his factory after the place next door was ram raided. They won't stand up to a ram raid. We went with in-ground removable bollards and a permanent bollard instead.
